“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”

We said goodbye to our dear friend, companion and second child today.

Our grief and sadness will follow us every day and with every task we undertake.

We know that he has joined Chanty in a better place, where peace, and no pain exists.

We will always love and miss you.

A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, big or small, young or old. He doesn’t care if you’re not smart, not popular, not a good joke-teller, not the best athlete, nor the best-looking person. To your dog, you are the greatest, the smartest, the nicest human being who was ever born. You are his friend and protector.

Louis Sabin, All About Dogs As Pets

There’s just something about dogs that makes you feel good. You come home; they’re thrilled to see you. They’re good for the ego.

Janet Schulman

I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time?

Sir Walter Scott
